The first step in finding the perfect pair of crafted gloves is to look at the hand, from here, the resident shop experts Sofie Possemiers and her team will estimate the correct glove size, which can be adjusted to make a bespoke glove that uniquely fits to your hand. Made from baby soft lambskin leather, the gloves benefit from luxe liners made from silk or cashmere and come in a wide range of colours from petrol blue, gold to Bordeaux red. For a smart occasion, you can choose a pair of gloves embellished with satin, lace or tulle

Sadly a dying breed, Ganterie Boon is the last remaining glove shop in Antwerp. We imagine that their high quality of glove offerings likely saw off any remaining competition.  Plus, its deep roots in the community, established far back in 1884 means that it has become something of an Antwerp stalwart for locals and visitors alike.

Started by two entrepreneurial Italians, the shop then passed to Arthur Boon in 1920, and the glove-making business became family-run. Keeping its art deco interior alongside its traditional features mean that today, three generations and 120 years later, the shop still feels the same – offering an atmospheric back-in-time experience for anyone who enters. As for the gloves, Ganterie still work with small glove workshops in Italy, France and Hungary who they have a close relationship with to choose the quality of the leather to ensure it is smoothly tanned, followed by overseeing the cut of the gloves.

With their attention to detail, traditional methods, high-quality materials and precise measurements, Ganterie Boon could have coined the term ‘fits like a glove.’
