Completely handmade in Rome, Italy, Patrizia Fabri is more than just a hat shop. It’s a legacy of design as seen by the scores of wooden hat shapes, thousands in total, that line the workshop. These form the basis of every hat made and is the starting point of a Patrizia Fabri design. Whether you’re having a hat made for yourself or commissioning for a project, Patrizia Fabri is often the first port of call for film makers, fashion photographers, models, artists, pop stars and costume designers. From the practical to the outlandish, the brand has become synonymous with old-world charm set to a modern world.

Recent collections include an eco-friendly breathable straw hat, decorated with a bright red PVC poppy made from recycled materials, Peruvian hats in vibrant blues and greens, a soft felt hat in burgundy that comes with a delicate mesh, and brightly hued fascinators decorated with an array of feathers.

Story

Although Patrizia Fabri is the namesake of this working hat shop, its history goes back to 1936 making it the oldest hat shop in Rome. At the time, the workshop was habituated by a family of hatters keeping the traditions of the shop going strong. It wasn’t until 2003 when Patrizia Fabri fell in love with the shop that it was able to merge the modern world of fashion and popular culture with over a century of hat design and tradition.

Collaborating with some of the 21st century’s most important designers, Fabizia Fabri now works with fashion giants such as Elie Saab, Sergio Rossi and Givenchy, as well as unique pieces for artistic performances for the likes of Madonna and Lady Gaga.
