My Alpaca’s range of duvets, pillows, baby alpaca and cashmere throws and travel sets not only showcase the softer-than-butter natural alpaca material, it also demonstrates a high quality of product, using centuries-old quilting traditions from the Guild of Tailors established in 1272 in Krakow, Poland.

A small craft textile brand, My Alpaca’s handmade duvets are made from cotton satin, filled with 100% pure alpaca fibre – material that is not only deeply comfortable, it has extraordinary thermoregulatory qualities which makes for a great sleeping partner. The first stage of production includes the sourcing and treatment of the alpaca fibres -  a rigorous and exacting method which includes shearing, cleaning, carding (hundreds of tiny needles on the machine’s rollers comb the fibre into strands of fine, ordered threads) and casing (when the material is placed between two sheets) before the precise construction and quilting takes place.

The result is individually made, artisan created bedding full of soul and crafted with love. Recent additions to the brand include a Hamptons Collection in light dusty blue, a Yacht Collection in preppy, navy blue and an ornate ‘Toile’. Adding to their charm and take-me-everywhere appeal, the duvets and pillows come with their own holdalls to travel with so you never have to be without your My Alpaca.

Story

In 2014, the owner and founder of My Alpaca, Magdalena Kot-Kyriazis had a vision – a way in which to save ancient techniques from her home country of Poland from being eradicated, whilst producing a high quality, luxury garment. Tapping into the current renaissance for craftsmanship as an expression of passion, individuality and quality, My Alpaca was created – a meeting point of renovated knowledge and luxury materials while protecting the craft for the future.

Magdalena Kot-Kyriazis persevered with her dream, along the way finding a small alpaca farm in the Sub Carpathian region of Poland where she grew to love the happy generous creatures, whilst developing proprietary stitching patterns with master-craftsmen who helped train a new generation of quilters.

Her hard work and dedication paid off, rewarding her with international recognition exporting to over 15 countries and receiving a handful of design awards in Poland.

Stand Out

Melding luxe materials with an ancient craft, My Alpaca’s handmade duvets and pillows are full of heart and soul – plus seriously comfy.

Ikat: a positive history of cultural exchange

When wandering Mallorcan village streets, a specific type of fabric will catch your eye – the blue & white fabric called Ikat. It bears a characteristic pattern obtained by the process of resist dying, and the island of Mallorca is the only place where you can still visit family-run workshops that have been operating for over 160 years.
