Floral wallpaper interiors of the Alpenloge Boutique Hotel | Allgäu Bavaria Germany

Blossomy House

Originally conceived as the village schoolhouse back in the 1930s, the traditional house, with Alpine curb appeal of larch shingles, gabled rooftop and green shutters framing the lattice windows, has been lovingly converted into a small design hotel. Today Alpenloge holds a style vigil over lush pastures, wild meadows and Alpine eye candy of Allgäu across the four compass points in each direction.

Earthed tones inspired by the doorstep nature form the interior basecamp of the Alpenloge in a camouflage of inked botanical prints, fauna across vast wallpapers and licks of Little Green paint keep the mood sober and subtle. Timber-plank flooring, bold Space Copenhagen furniture, oversized forest-green velvet sofas, raw linens, 1931 Moser chairs and metallic-glowing Angelpoise lamps cast the places of conversation. Alpenloge is not just a pretty face – the hotel was designed with the environment in mind, not only in locally sourcing and utilising natural products and building materials. Alpenloge uses an in-room air ventilation system that was awarded with first place by The Passive House Institute for its energy recovery system. There is an obvious connection to the 360 degree outdoor theatre of the Allgäu.
