As from May 2021, the HUBERTUS Alpin Lodge & Spa in Balderschwang, Bavaria's natural beauty spot of Allgäu, will re-open as the HUBERTUS Mountain Refugio Allgäu.
Nestled in the high valley of Oberallgäu at 1,044 metres altitude, 'Holistic Life' has long been the cornerstone of the owning Traubel family. This ethos anchors the new Wellness and Spa experience and defines the HUBERTUS.
Striking structural architecture and a sustainable approach herald the new era of the HUBERTUS Mountain Refugio Allgäu, a crucial phase in the retreat's long-term eco-conscious development. The additions of the new two block-type thermal power stations generate electricity and heat efficiently and sustainably. The hotel's facade has also been under the builder's knife, wrapping the building in the Allgäu typical spruce wood shingles of the region. Adding more 'liveable' space, all the guest bedrooms have new loggias - a comfy and shaded chillax zone overlooking the Allgäu mountains.
The new building's highlight is the infinity pool on the first floor, with a fantastic view of the mountains facilitated through the clever timbered exterior. A roof-top Japanese Onsen, open-air Alpine Zen Gardens, ten new treatment suites, Alpinarium and Sauna landscape complete the holistic approach. The hotel also added a new outdoor natural bathing pond.
A seriously good Yoga calendar and packages run throughout the year, and their Holistic signature programmes of individually tailored Ayurvedic treatments are also available online to book.
HUBERTUS Mountain Refugio Allgäu is set in an epic Alpine setting that could easily inspire a novel or two; this is a holistic Bavarian bolthole with 66 rooms and suites.
