This December, a romantically dilapidated Art Nouveau Villa in Vienna sets the stage for this year's legendary foodie pop-up by Barbara Eselböck and Alain Weissgerber of the famed Taubenkobel Restaurant.
Art, Food & Culture: The Manner Villa – once the home of the founding family of the famous layered wafer biscuits packed in their iconic pink wrappings, will be the creative hub of a fantasy "Salon". An elegant bourgeois atmosphere that takes in the Art Nouveau setting serving culinary creations and foodie dialogues by Alain and his crew, whilst co-host, Barbara, adds her usual whimsical takes on life at the Salon with an imaginative concept, designs and dressings. Artistic installations by the artist Brigitte Kowanz provide essential moments. Known for her work with the medium of light, she combines linguistic and formal aesthetics, rounding off an impressive night for the guests of the "Taubensalon".
Constructed between 1910-14, The Manner Villa is in the Hernals 17th district of Vienna and is an example of the Sesessionaism movement by architect Peter Paul Brang. Inside this time-capsule, original parquet flooring, faded gold taffeta drapes and ornate ceilings play host in this magical pop-up- of culture.
Pleasure is the motto, interpersonal, art-like and culinary.
