Hall in Tirol

Austria

Birthplace to the ‘dollar’, Hall in Tirol (Tyrol) is often referred to as the secret capital of Austria and lies just a 9 km drive from neighbour, Innsbruck. Long considered as the most beautiful of towns, Hall is draped in a rich history of salt trading and as the royal mint producing coinage used across the world, then called the Thaler - hence the connection to the currency of the dollar. Hall is a town of preservation and great prosperity, which sporned the grand architecture spanning from Medieval 'salt wealth' through to the might of the Royal Habsburg Empire.

Surrounded by natural beauty of western Austria, the region of Hall-Wattens is a hotspot for activities both in summer as well as for winter ski experience at the Glungezer mountain which transforms into a small but mighty skiing area with 23 km of ski slopes, among which the longest downhill run of Tyrol.

Culture, history and beauty – Hall in Tirol is one of Austria’s best kept secrets.
