Brand Intro

Exceptional pieces of precision engineering – Mykita sunglasses fuse the handcrafted with high technology to produce eyewear that redefines the aesthetic of luxury.

Products

Mykita’s sunglasses are made for everyone – men, women, teen and tots with frames coming in a range of styles including the ever-popular aviator, vintage-shape ‘butterfly’, rounded and squared.

Using modern, durable materials such as stainless steel, acetate and light-as-a-feather Mylon, the construction of Mykita’s sunglasses have a progressive aesthetic and are made for the refined sun-seeker.

Each shape, style and frame taps into trends gleaned from historical to modern day as well as providing specific practicalities combining form and function in a stylish and sleek way.

Collections have seen projects with Helmut Lang introducing a new wraparound concept, a collaboration with fashion designer Bernhard Willhelm which saw the eighties reinvented with colour pops and Mykita’s own flow of boundary-pushing ideas including the use of origami, rimless lenses and advanced polarisation among many others

Story

Mykita Eyewear | Engineered Sunglasses Berlin | The Aficionados

A disused Kindergarten in former eastside Berlin in 2003 became the first haus and workshop of artisanal MYKITA, in fact, the building helped shape their inquisitive minds, fostering learning and thinking out of the box. Founder and creative director Moritz Krueger brought together a diversity of skills and backgrounds which allowed Mykita’s creative ideas to blossom.

Taking inspiration from the pioneering spirit that shaped Berlin itself, Mykita decided to manufacture their own eyewear designs thereby keeping production purely homegrown and allowing them to adapt to new technologies to meet the design requirements. Their distinctive spiral hinge was a case in point as they were unable to find anyone to do this intricate job which pushed production in-house.

Today Mykita has spread internationally – their winning combo of technology, design and pure aesthetic travelling far and wide.

Stand Out

You could buy 20 pairs of sunglasses from Mykita and they would all be stop-and-stare different and unique in their own way – such is the endless percolation of creative ideas that spills forth from this high-concept sunglasses outfit.
